- Butler REC Cooperative Service Map 1 (Butler REC is pink)
- Why it matters? This matters because per public comment records Beltline (data center developer) and Butler REC have retained an El Dorado lawyer, Mr. Ray Connell, co owner of BG Products.
“I have been retained by Beltline and Butler Rural Electric Cooperative to assist in the location of a Data Center in the Butler Rural Electric Cooperative service territory. I have been involved in the meetings with the City and County Administration…”
3. Butler County Comprehensive Plan
-
- Current Plan: Butler Vision 2020, updated 2002
- Why it matters? Most of us did not know what the comprehensive plan was, sadly. This is the plan that tells residents, future residents, schools, business, and future employers what we are about in Butler County. It includes zoning, definitions, and also the administration’s plans for things such as tax abatement for future employers in logistics, manufacturing, and technology. The planning commission has recommended swapping tax abatement with incentives.
You can catch those comments in the meeting from March 10, 2026 -

You will want to notice section 3.3.4 here, I believe this has since been removed.

4. Butler County Agenda Meetings
-
- Why it matters? This is your portal for all things County Commissioner meetings. Here you will find (in my opinion, rather vague) notes, documents (that don’t work great on a phone. You can scroll to the end of the notes to find the documents), and the meeting videos. If you cannot be at every Tuesday morning, 9am meetings- you can watch them here! But people showing up to meetings when they’re able is how we protect our county, and hold county employees, elected and otherwise, accountable.
5. Here is the post with links for the DRAFT of the updated FEMA floodplain map., and the dates for the Open House.
