Butler County Data Center Regulations: July 7 Meeting Will Shape the Future of Rural Communities, AG land

If you are a Butler County, KS resident, these regulations matter to YOU! They will shape the future of unincorporated AG land in our county. It’s time to pay attention.

Please look through them, and then attend Tuesday night’s meeting:
July 7, 2026 7pm
Historic County Courthouse on Central Ave, 4th floor

Come speak on anything you have concerns about; the commissioners and planning/zoning board can look over it together at the next work session, July 21, (6pm). This is not a time to say “no data centers,” even though we may feel that way. 😊 Save that for a commissioner meeting (9am every Tuesday.) *It is a time to explain why certain lines in the draft regulations should be changed, for example: the noise ordinance should be lower, or notices should go out further, or waivers should not be offered, definitions need refining, etc.

Let your voice be heard! And if you cannot get through your speech in 3 minutes, cause whew that’s short, have a copy for the County Counselor to turn in as evidence for them to see so you’re heard later.

Sometimes the document is blank for a few seconds, click on the blank space below and it should show up. You can also download and print a copy for yourself.
