A member made a post about concern for the waste water produced by data centers. Below is a response, for educational purposes.
“These data centers can ONLY use pretreated, CLEAN water. Then, regardless of what kind of cooling system they use, the water at the end is contaminated and most water treatment facilities are not equipped to filter out the micro-contaminants. Yes, there is the Clean Water Act that regulates this type of thing, but companies like BG violate this act and get fined (https://www.epa.gov/…/epa-reaches-settlement-bg…), but those types of fines don’t seem to be a deterrent to these billion dollar technocracies one bit if the violations ever catch up to them.

It seems like we are in the Wild West phase of Data Center building where the regulations and protectionary measures have not caught up yet with the ridiculous rate of building and expansion.
